Full stack quantum: From atoms to applications: At planqc, we build quantum solutions from the ground up – and top down.
As a full stack quantum company, we seamlessly integrate scalable, high-fidelity hardware with optimized software and tailored quantum applications. This unique co-design approach enables us to translate real-world problems into quantum advantage faster—whether deployed on-premises, in the cloud, or tightly coupled with HPC systems.
Applications
We develop algorithms with a focus on industry relevance—from quantum-inspired methods that deliver value on classical hardware today to quantum-native solutions that scale with our hardware tomorrow. By co-designing software and hardware, we faster time to impact, and a clear path from early adoption to quantum advantage. Here are some of our case studies:
Operating System
Our quantum operating system layer provides the foundation for running quantum applications efficiently across varied hardware environments. It includes:
Low-latency control and scheduling of quantum programs
Resource management and user access control
Compiler interfaces and error mitigation tools
Integration with simulation environments and hybrid classical-quantum workflows
This software infrastructure is designed to be modular and extensible to different hardware platforms and deployment models. As part of this development, planqc contributes to projects such as ALQU, which develops standardized interfaces, simulation tools, and application-level orchestration tailored to DLR's quantum hardware.
System Integration
Our quantum systems are designed for seamless integration into a wide range of IT infrastructures—from dedicated on-site setups to high-performance computing environments and cloud platforms.
On-Premise
For customers requiring full control and local data processing, we deliver quantum computers for on-site installation.
In the DINAQC project, we’re developing a 100 qubit system for the German Aerospace Center (DLR) as an on-premise solution.
HPC Integration
We integrate quantum systems directly into supercomputing environments, enabling hybrid workflows.
In the MAQCS project with LRZ, a 1000-qubit system is being embedded into the HPC infrastructure for hybrid quantum-classical processing.
Quantum as a Service
For maximum flexibility and accessibility, planqc will offer remote access to quantum computing via the cloud.
These systems will be hosted at planqc’s headquarters, providing reliable access to our full-stack technology stack via the cloud.
Hardware
At planqc, we build digital quantum computers based on neutral atoms, the best qubits available. Our technology is rooted in decades of cutting-edge research and designed to bring quantum advantage to industry, science, and society.
